Prophet Muhammed (pbuh+f) is the Last Prophet

Imam Al-Mehdi (as) is the Last Messenger

All praise to Allah forever,

In Quran 33:40, Allah (Glory to Him) clearly says that our Prophet is a Messenger of Allah and the last Prophet (not the last Messenger):

33:40    مَّا كَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ أَبَآ أَحَدٍۢ مِّن رِّجَالِكُمْ وَلَٰكِن رَّسُولَ ٱللَّهِ وَخَاتَمَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ ۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمًۭا

33:40 Muhammad is not the father of any man among you, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets; and Allah is ever Aware of all things.

In order to make the last Prophet also the last Messenger, Islamic scholars have made up a false claim that a person cannot become a Messenger unless he is already a Prophet. This claim has been proven wrong using the Quran.

Let us start with Quran 3:81 and 33:7 where all Prophets (including our Prophet Muhammed, peace be upon him and my full obedience to him) have taken covenant with Allah to believe in and support a final Messenger that comes after all them in order to be given Prophethood.

3:81 When Allah made (His) covenant with the Prophets, (He said): Behold that which I have given you of the Book and Wisdom. And afterward there will come unto you a Messenger, confirming that which ye possess. Ye shall believe in him and ye shall help him. He said: Do ye agree, and will ye take up My burden (which I lay upon you) in this (matter)? They answered: We agree. He said: Then bear ye witness. I will be a witness with you.

33:7 And when We exacted a covenant from the prophets, and from thee (O Muhammad) and from Noah and Abraham and Moses and Jesus son of Mary. We took from them a solemn covenant.

Therefore, once we follow the proof below, we will all agree that the twelve Representatives of God (Khalifa/Kulafaa) from the Tribe of Quraish AFTER our Prophet (Nabi) are all Messengers (Rusul) of God while the final Messenger (Rasool) that the Prophets (Anbiyaa) will support is the current Representative (Khalifa) of God, Imam Al-Mehdi (peace upon him and his forefathers, may Allah bring forward his and their re-appearance very soon in sha Allah. May Allah grants us martyrdom under his Command or while preparing for his arrival). He is the last and final Messenger of God that all martyred Prophets before him will come back to support him to fulfill their covenant with Allah in Quran 3:81. Any Prophet who was not martyred but died instead has effectively forfeit his role so others (Mankind = Bashar/Bashar not Human = Insaan/Naas) will take over his role and keep the magical number Companions of The Imam to 313 (additive prime number). The Proof

There are four possible classifications for the roles of Prophets and Messengers:

  1. Independent roles
  2. Same roles
  3. Prophet is a Messenger
  4. Messenger is Prophet

Only one possibility is correct. Let us find out which one from the Quran.

1. Independent Roles

A "Doctor Engineer" means an engineer who became a doctor, whereas an “Engineer Doctor” means a doctor who became an engineer. Both are valid sayings but they have different meanings. Therefore, it is possible that the Prophet role and the Messenger roles are independent and can be both combined in one person, like our Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him and my full obedience to him).

But what does God tells us in the Quran? We need to continue with other possibilities to prove that these two roles are not independent.

2. Same Roles

If a Messenger is a Prophet and a Prophet is a Messenger, then God Almighty would not have used two different words to describe the same concept. This possibility is only possible if God uses synonyms in the Quran which there is no evidence for. On the contrary, every different word in the Quran (no matter how close in meaning it feels to other words) has its own exclusive and settle meaning in addition to the shared meaning with similar words. We can use the free software from www.QuranCode.com to Ctrl+Click any word to see how God uses it and all other words from its root throughout the Quran to understand its settle difference to similar words.

As for the words Messenger (Rasool) and Prophet (Nabi) they come from totally different roots. The word Messenger (Rasool) comes from root (رسل) meaning “sent with a message” old or new is irrelevant, whereas the word Prophet (Nabi) comes from root (نبو) meaning “sent with a new message” = news.

3. Prophet is a Messenger and

4. Messenger is a Prophet

Unlike the above "Doctor Engineer" example, when words are adjectives (not independent roles), they must precede the nouns they describe. In Arabic however, adjectives (الصفة) must follow the nouns they describe (الموصوف) so "طبيب جرّاح" is a surgeon doctor while "جرّاح طبيب" is nonsensical.

Applying this clear-cut rule to the roles of Messenger and Prophet, Allah Almighty always uses Messenger (Rasool) before Prophet (Nabi) " رَسُول نَّبِيّ" throughout the Quran and never the opposite " نَّبِيّ رَسُول " to signify that Prophet describes a Messenger. That is, every Prophet (Nabi) is a Messenger (Rasool) and not every Messenger (Rasool) is Prophet (Nabi) as falsely claimed by the majority of Muslim scholars.

Here are the verses that show both the words Messenger (Rasool) and the word Prophet (Nabi) next to each other:

7:157 Those who follow the Messenger, the Prophet who was never taught by humans since birth, whom they will find described in the Torah and the Gospel (which are) with them. He will enjoin on them that which is right and forbid them that which is wrong. He will make lawful for them all good things and prohibit for them only the foul; and he will relieve them of their burden and the fetters that they used to wear. Then those who believe in him, and honour him, and help him, and follow the light which is sent down with him: they are the successful.

19:51 And make mention in the Book of Moses. Lo! he was chosen, and he was a Messenger (of Allah), a Prophet.

19:54 And make mention in the Book of Ishmael. Lo! he was a keeper of his promise, and he was a messenger (of Allah), a prophet.

As for the claim that a Nabi is someone who is born as a Nabi and once he is sent to His people, he becomes a Rasool. That means the majority of the 144000 “Nabi”s are simply sent to themselves and their immediate families and only 313 “Rasool”s are sent to spread the Message of Allah Almighty. Here a clear verse which shows this is false:

2:213 Mankind were one community, and Allah sent (unto them) prophets as bearers of good tidings and as warners, and revealed therewith the Book with the truth that it might judge between mankind concerning that wherein they differed. And only those unto whom (the Book) was given differed concerning it, after clear proofs had come unto them, through hatred one of another. And Allah by His Will guided those who believe unto the truth of that concerning which they differed. Allah guideth whom He will unto a straight path.

Conclusion

There are four possible relationships between the roles of Messenger and Prophet:

  1. Independent roles
  2. Same roles
  3. Prophet is a Messenger
  4. Messenger is Prophet

The 1st possibility that the two roles are independent of each other can still be true as Allah Almighty used an OR between them in Quran 22:52 which may mean they are independent roles if the OR is an exclusive OR (XOR) but that is still unclear from the verse context.

22:52 And We did not send before you any messenger nor any prophet except that when he spoke [or recited], Satan threw into it [some misunderstanding]. But Allah abolishes that which Satan throws in; then Allah makes precise His verses. And Allah is Knowing and Wise.

However, the two roles still cannot be used to mean a Prophet (Nabi) is a Messenger (Rasool). The OR may have been used to assert that not only a Messenger (Rasool) but not EVEN a Prophet (Nabi) who is higher than a Messenger can still be vulnerable to the interference of the Satan (may the Curse of Allah be upon him and his followers) during Message delivery and this is why they are both addressed separately, not because of separate independent roles but to emphasize both roles, regardless of purity level.

Note that God didn't say " مِن رَّسُولٍۢ وَلَا مِن نَبِىٍّ " which keeps the possibility of the meaning nor even " مِن رَّسُولٍۢ وَلَا حَتَّى نَبِىٍّ ", therefore the correct translation would become:

22:52 And We did not send before you any messenger; nor even any prophet; except that when he spoke [or recited], Satan threw into it [some misunderstanding]. But Allah abolishes that which Satan throws in; then Allah makes precise His verses. And Allah is Knowing and Wise.

This makes only the 3rd possibility valid. The 1st possibility cannot be dismissed yet but even if it were true, it still does NOT validate the claim that our Prophet is the last Messenger because Allah Almighty only said that he is the last Prophet and there is not a single proof from Quran that he is the last Messenger as the 4th possibility is impossible.

Indeed, throughout the Quran, Allah Almighty orders us to obey His Messengers (Rusul) and not His Prophets (Anbiyaa) because Messengers already include Prophets. See Appendices A, B and C.

Who is the Last Messenger?

If our Prophet (pbuh+f) is not the last Messenger and he himself is to come back along with all martyred Prophets to support the final Messenger, then who is this Messenger?

The answer can only be Imam Al-Mehdi (as) since we know he is the Awaited One to come and restore peace and justice to Earth after it is filled with transgression and injustice. May Allah bring forward his re-appearance very soon in sha Allah

Final Advice

In summary, there are 124000 (most likely 144000) Messengers out of which there are 313 chosen to be Prophets. Some got killed delivering the Message of Allah while some died. Those who were killed in the way of Allah will in sha Allah come back to fulfill their promise in 3:81 while the dead ones will be replaced by other martyrs or current living men and women to complete the number back to 313. These 313 companions of Imam Al-Mehdi (as) may include 263 males and 50 females including the companions of the cave who are currently asleep in their bed (مرقد) while a Mosque was built above them (to signify they are not dead and no graves below the Mosque).

Ask Allah Almighty to bring forward the re-appearance of our saviour by Allah’s permission Who is the real Saviour by reciting Quran 27:62 in full for the sake of the Imam of your time, not for personal needs:

27:62       أَمَّن يُجِيبُ ٱلْمُضْطَرَّ إِذَا دَعَاهُ وَيَكْشِفُ ٱلسُّوٓءَ وَيَجْعَلُكُمْ خُلَفَآءَ ٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ أَءِلَٰهٌۭ مَّعَ ٱللَّهِ ۚ قَلِيلًۭا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ

027:062 Is He who answers the call of the distressed [person] when he invokes Him and removes his distress, and makes you successors on the earth...? What! Is there a god besides Allah? Little is the admonition that you take.

Final Advice

The Quran is for all times, and its meaning is clarified more from generation to generation. Don’t get stuck in culture and knowledge of forefathers. Ask Allah sincerely for guidance (ٱهْدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ) and He will guide you to His straight (not just any right) path.

Remember that Allah knows all and controls everything in real-time. This life is an open-book exam and The Quran is that book so READ IT and do not ignore it for easy to understand substitutes like speeches or interpretations that are limited to human intellectual capacity and their current scientific understanding.

25:30 And the Messenger has said, "O my Lord, indeed my people have taken this Qur'an as [a thing] abandoned."

47:24 Will they then not meditate on the Qur'an, or are there locks on the hearts?

Note

313 Prophets is additive prime number*.

124000 – 313 = 123687 Messengers is not prime.

144000 – 313 = 143687 Messengers is additive prime*.

313 = 263 males + 50 females where 263 males is additive prime* while 50 is not prime.

*An additive prime number means a number that is prime (divisible by 1 and itself only) and the sum of its digits is also prime (e.g. 29 is prime and 2+9=11 is prime).

3:132 And obey Allah and the messenger, that ye may find mercy.

4:59 O ye who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the messenger and those of you who are in authority; and if ye have a dispute concerning any matter, refer it to Allah and the messenger if ye are (in truth) believers in Allah and the Last Day. That is better and more seemly in the end.

5:92 Obey Allah and obey the messenger, and beware! But if ye turn away, then know that the duty of Our messenger is only plain conveyance (of the message).

8:1 They ask thee (O Muhammad) of the spoils of war. Say: The spoils of war belong to Allah and the messenger, so keep your duty to Allah, and adjust the matter of your difference, and obey Allah and His messenger, if ye are (true) believers.

8:20 O ye who believe! Obey Allah and His messenger, and turn not away from him when ye hear (him speak).

8:46 And obey Allah and His messenger, and dispute not one with another lest ye falter and your strength depart from you; but be steadfast! Lo! Allah is with the steadfast.

24:54 Say: Obey Allah and obey the messenger. But if ye turn away, then (it is) for him (to do) only that wherewith he hath been charged, and for you (to do) only that wherewith ye have been charged. If ye obey him, ye will go aright. But the messenger hath no other charge than to convey (the message) plainly.

24:56 Establish worship and pay the poor-due and obey the messenger, that haply ye may find mercy.

47:33 O ye who believe! Obey Allah and obey the messenger, and render not your actions vain.

58:13 Fear ye to offer alms before your conference? Then, when ye do it not and Allah hath forgiven you, establish worship and pay the poor-due and obey Allah and His messenger. And Allah is Aware of what ye do.

64:12 Obey Allah and obey His messenger; but if ye turn away, then the duty of Our messenger is only to convey (the message) plainly.

002:098 Who is an enemy to Allah, and His angels and His messengers, and Gabriel and Michael! Then, lo! Allah (Himself) is an enemy to the disbelievers.

002:285 The messenger believeth in that which hath been revealed unto him from his Lord and (so do) believers. Each one believeth in Allah and His angels and His scriptures and His messengers - We make no distinction between any of His messengers - and they say: We hear, and we obey. (Grant us) Thy forgiveness, our Lord. Unto Thee is the journeying.

003:179 It is not (the purpose) of Allah to leave you in your present state till He shall separate the wicked from the good. And it is not (the purpose of) Allah to let you know the Unseen. But Allah chooseth of His messengers whom He will, (to receive knowledge thereof). So believe in Allah and His messengers. If ye believe and ward off (evil), yours will be a vast reward.

004:136 O ye who believe! Believe in Allah and His messenger and the Scripture which He hath revealed unto His messenger, and the Scripture which He revealed aforetime. Whoso disbelieveth in Allah and His angels and His scriptures and His messengers and the Last Day, he verily hath wandered far astray.

004:150 Lo! those who disbelieve in Allah and His messengers, and seek to make distinction between Allah and His messengers, and say: We believe in some and disbelieve in others, and seek to choose a way in between;

004:152 But those who believe in Allah and His messengers and make no distinction between any of them, unto them Allah will give their wages; and Allah was ever Forgiving, Merciful.

004:171 O People of the Scripture! Do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter aught concerning Allah save the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and His word which He conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers, and say not "Three" - Cease! (it is) better for you! - Allah is only One Allah. Far is it removed from His Transcendent Majesty that He should have a son. His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is sufficient as Defender.

007:101 Such were the townships. We relate some tidings of them unto thee (Muhammad). Their messengers verily came unto them with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty), but they could not believe because they had before denied. Thus doth Allah print upon the hearts of disbelievers (that they hear not).

009:070 Hath not the fame of those before them reached them - the folk of Noah, A'ad, Thamud, the folk of Abraham, the dwellers of Midian and the disasters (which befell them)? Their messengers (from Allah) came unto them with proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty). So Allah surely wronged them not, but they did wrong themselves.

010:013 We destroyed the generations before you when they did wrong; and their messengers (from Allah) came unto them with clear proofs (of His Sovereignty) but they would not believe. Thus do We reward the guilty folk.

011:059 And such were A'ad. They denied the revelations of their Lord and flouted His messengers and followed the command of every froward potentate.

014:009 Hath not the history of those before you reached you: the folk of Noah, and (the tribes of) A'ad and Thamud, and those after them? None save Allah knoweth them. Their messengers came unto them with clear proofs, but they thrust their hands into their mouths, and said: Lo! we disbelieve in that wherewith ye have been sent, and lo! we are in grave doubt concerning that to which ye call us.

014:010 Their messengers said: Can there be doubt concerning Allah, the Creator of the heavens and the earth? He calleth you that He may forgive you your sins and reprieve you unto an appointed term. They said: Ye are but mortals like us, who would fain turn us away from what our fathers used to worship. Then bring some clear warrant.

014:011 Their messengers said unto them: We are but mortals like you, but Allah giveth grace unto whom He will of His slaves. It is not ours to bring you a warrant unless by the permission of Allah. In Allah let believers put their trust!

014:013 And those who disbelieved said unto their messengers: Verily we will drive you out from our land, unless ye return to our religion. Then their Lord inspired them, (saying): Verily we shall destroy the wrong-doers,

014:047 So think not that Allah will fail to keep His promise to His messengers. Lo! Allah is Mighty, Able to Requite (the wrong).

028:034 My brother Aaron is more eloquent than me in speech. Therefor send him with me as a helper to confirm me. Lo! I fear that they will give the lie to me.

030:009 Have they not travelled in the land and seen the nature of the consequence for those who were before them? They were stronger than these in power, and they dug the earth and built upon it more than these have built. Messengers of their own came unto them with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty). Surely Allah wronged them not, but they did wrong themselves.

035:025 And if they deny thee, those before them also denied. Their messengers came unto them with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty), and with the Psalms and the Scripture giving light.

040:022 That was because their messengers kept bringing them clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty) but they disbelieved; so Allah seized them. Lo! He is Strong, severe in punishment.

040:083 And when their messengers brought them clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty) they exulted in the knowledge they (themselves) possessed. And that which they were wont to mock befell them.

057:019 And those who believe in Allah and His messengers, they are the loyal, and the martyrs are with their Lord; they have their reward and their light; while as for those who disbelieve and deny Our revelations, they are owners of hell-fire.

057:021 Race one with another for forgiveness from your Lord and a Garden whereof the breadth is as the breadth of the heavens and the earth, which is in store for those who believe in Allah and His messengers. Such is the bounty of Allah, which He bestoweth upon whom He will, and Allah is of Infinite Bounty.

057:025 We verily sent Our messengers with clear proofs, and revealed with them the Scripture and the Balance, that mankind may observe right measure; and He revealed iron, wherein is mighty power and (many) uses for mankind, and that Allah may know him who helpeth Him and His messengers, though unseen. Lo! Allah is Strong, Almighty.

059:006 And that which Allah gave as spoil unto His messenger from them, ye urged not any horse or riding-camel for the sake thereof, but Allah giveth His messenger lordship over whom He will. Allah is Able to do all things.

064:006 That was because their messengers (from Allah) kept coming unto them with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty), but they said: Shall mere mortals guide us? So they disbelieved and turned away, and Allah was independent (of them). Allah is Absolute, Owner of Praise.

065:008 And how many a community revolted against the ordinance of its Lord and His messengers, and We called it to a stern account and punished it with dire punishment,

Appendix C

Here Allah shows clearly that Prophets were indeed sent (meaning they are Messengers) to their people and they got kills (to become martyrs to come back and support Imam Al-Mehdi (as) after his re-appearance):

002:091 And when it is said unto them: Believe in that which Allah hath revealed, they say: We believe in that which was revealed unto us. And they disbelieve in that which cometh after it, though it is the truth confirming that which they possess. Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Why then slew ye the prophets of Allah aforetime, if ye are (indeed) believers?

003:112 Ignominy shall be their portion wheresoever they are found save (where they grasp) a rope from Allah and a rope from men. They have incurred anger from their Lord, and wretchedness is laid upon them. That is because they used to disbelieve the revelations of Allah, and slew the prophets wrongfully. That is because they were rebellious and used to transgress.

003:181 Verily Allah heard the saying of those who said, (when asked for contributions to the war): "Allah, forsooth, is poor, and we are rich!" We shall record their saying with their slaying of the prophets wrongfully and We shall say: Taste ye the punishment of burning!

004:155 Then because of their breaking of their covenant, and their disbelieving in the revelations of Allah, and their slaying of the prophets wrongfully, and their saying: Our hearts are hardened - Nay, but Allah set a seal upon them for their disbelief, so that they believe not save a few -

005:020 And (remember) when Moses said unto his people: O my people! Remember Allah's favour unto you, how He placed among you prophets, and He made you kings, and gave you that (which) He gave not to any (other) of (His) creatures.
